There are two types of digital images: rasters and vectors.
Raster images are made in individual pixels, and contain a lot of detail. However, you cannot grow without losing quality.
A vector image is made up of lines and shapes. They usually do not have many details, but you can make them as big as you like without losing anything.
If you have a very small raster graphic for your needs, the solution is to convert the image into a vector, and you can do this in Adobe Illustrator. It is a quick and easy process, and it produces excellent results. Here's how to turn an image into a vector using Adobe Illustrator.
What is Vector's picture?
A vector image is a separate image with dimensions than pixels.
Most of the images available online are raster images. Raster images use square pixels (colored pieces) to transfer the image. Vector drawings transmit color using multiple color polygons. Since vector images use powerful color components in contrast to vertical squares, they provide perfect lines and bright colors.
The geometry containing the images of the vector formula, made them independent of the correction. This means that the images do not lose quality when they are moved up or down, because the color polygons in the vector image will always retain their shape. The same is not true of raster images, because the color details of these images are extended when measured.
Once you are able to convert a JPG file into a vector in Adobe Illustrator, you will be able to measure anything you find in the size you want - without losing image quality.
The image you are using will not matter if you use the following procedure, except that larger images will take longer to edit. There are some images, however, that work better as vector images than others.
It is better to organize a single topic than a landscape or similar. Preferably, the image should have a white or transparent background and have a low resolution. It will need to be in a format like JPG, GIF, or PNG.
We will use Ryu's image in the Street Fighter series above. It serves as a good example for a variety of reasons. For one thing, it is a single topic. It also lends vector image format well, as it is a visual character. The vector image format is usually used for logos or visual images.
Step 2: Select Image Trace Preset
Illustrator has a special tool that lets you take pictures. It's called Image Trace and it comes with a reset list that does most of the work automatically.
In general, you should use Image Trace reset which is almost identical to the type of image you are converting, as each produces different effects.
High Fidelity Photo and Low Fidelity Photo. This produces the most detailed images, and the smallest details in the sequence. They are ideal for photos or complex art, such as the image we use.
3 colors, 6 colors, and 16 colors. These pre-set images are three, six, or 16 colors. Ideal for logos or art with many flat colors.
Gray shadows. This reset produces a detailed gray image.
Black and white Logo. This creates a simple two-color logo - black and white.
Graphic Art, Silhouettes, Line Art, and Technical Drawing. These are best used for certain types of images, and create black and white, line-based drawings mainly.
To get started, open your image in Illustrator and select it to activate image options. These options should be present at the top of your Illustrator window.
The most common type of graphics is the so-called bitmap or raster graphics. Typical examples include BMP, JPEG and PNG graphics formats that appear regularly online, as well as RAW format images generated by multiple digital cameras. They actually spell pixels, or small dots of color, on the picture and what color each color takes. They are a natural form of representing data from digital camera sensors.
Some graphics file formats use what is known as a vector graph. This defines mathematical relationships between different parts of an image, including lines, points and arcs within the image.
Vector diagrams are often useful because their mathematical properties allow them to rise and fall in size without distortion. For that reason, graphics are often used that should appear in different sizes in different areas, such as company logos. This is an automatic release of many common drawing and graphic programs, including Adobe Illustrator, a rival of CorelDRAW and an open source package called Inkscape.
Many tools, including Adobe Illustrator and other popular graphics applications, can convert files between vector and bitmap formats as needed. Conversion is not always complete, so it may be best to plan in advance what type of file you will need before you get too far into the graphics project.
Image Tracking in Illustrator
In previous versions of Illustrator, the same function was known as "Live Trace."
Open the image
Open the image to display in Illustrator using the "File" menu. Click on the image to select it.
Use Image Trace
Click the "Object" menu, then click on "Image Trace" and "Make."
Select Tracking Options
Click the "Image Trace" button under the "Manage" or "Properties" menu or select a preset option under "Tracing Presets." Adjust and try options until the next image looks the way you want it.
Manually Adjust Vector Graphics
To customize the elements of the graph you are producing, click "Object," then "Image Trace" and "Expand." Manually transfer or edit the vector methods created by Illustrator where you want them, using standard Illustrator graphics tools.
